It's so hard being a spoiled pup!

Did you know dogs have pet peeves (no pun intended)? No? Well they do!

Lupita's pet peeve is clothing. She HATES it! I am not crazy enough to be one of those people who think their pets should wear clothes because they're such "fashionistas". The only time they get dressed is usually during winter time when I put a jacket or hoodie on. OH! and Halloween of course because who can resist?! Anyways back to Lupita, even tho she has some of the non sleeved as well as sleeved hoodies she refuses to wear them and when I do put them on she freezes in place. I suppose she thinks this is some sort of punishment because she simply does not move the entire time the item of clothing is touching her tiny chihuahua body. Every year I try and every year I fail. In all the 3 years we've live in Alabama (yes it does get cold here too) she has probably worn and kept on her hoddies for a total of maybe umm 45 min combined. While she looks absolutely adorable and warm and cozy I have given up trying because I won't make her do something she doesn't like. Now Halloween is a different story because she has no choice, she will be cute even if she doesn't want to. LOL

"Mom, I am NOT amused."                           Our first Halloween outing in 2012

"I know I look fab but I hate this."

Now, Micro is another story. He is way smaller than Lupita and a lot thinner. He is ALWAYS cold no matter what time of the year it is. He LOVES his hoodies and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have any other way. His mission in life is to eat, nap, and be warm. But what is his pet peeve you may ask? LUPITA, Lupita is his pet peeve. She's just a bully and always picks on my poor old man and nothing is more annoying than having someone wake you up by jumping on top of you and biting your ears. Micro I feel you boy! Crazy thing, he can't live w/o her and neither can I.

"Look how warm I am, I LOVE it!!!"

"Mom, HALP!"

Puzzles for dogs?!

I often find myself getting home after a long tiring day at school, being greeted by 2 overly excited pups. I usually just want to lay on the couch but Lupita wants to play. So I discovered doggie puzzles! Sounds like a great idea, right? WRONG! This kept her occupied for a total of um 5 minutes. Was a complete failure and waste of money. Micro didn't want anything to do with the toys he just needed a nap.
Lupita is very food motivated (she loves her treats), let's face it she will do ANYTHING for food. The only good thing about that is that she was very easy to train.

Click on the links below to see her in action.

And yes, she is overweight but we are working on it together.

I love my Lupita! and Micro...maybe ;-)

I am a 3rd year veterinary student who is completely in love with my 2 chihuahuas. I am originally from Puerto Rico but moved to Alabama for vet school. I packed up my clothes and things and the kids packed up all their toys and we made the move! They are my world at the moment. I couldn't ask for better dogs than these 2 silly pants. I have tried this blog thing numerous times in the past but have not found my voice so what better topic than the thing I love most in life, my dogs. I will come out and say the one thing people are never supposed to say, I have a favorite 4 legged child. Lupita is my favorite therefore her pictures greatly outnumber Micro's but then again he is always sleeping so not much excitement to capture on film. It has been a rough road to travel being on our own for the first time. Adjusting to the long schedule that separate us during the day and keeping them well taken care of despite my limited income (well we're BROKE lol) has been tough but through it all I would not change a thing and I 'm sure they wouldn't either!

Introductions!!!!

Lupita is my 4 year old, female, Blue Chihuahua that "fell on my lap" while I worked at a veterinary hospital back home in Puerto Rico and I am so thankful every day that I was privileged enough to adopt her. Her favorite pastime is to hump my leg or at least try to.

Micro-Man is my 10 year old, male, chihuahua. Micro is Darby and Jitzy Lee's runt from their last unplanned litter. Darby moved on to doggie heaven in 2013 and Jitzy remains with my mom back home. Micro is my grumpy old man who loves to sleep all day. My little man is missing 14 teeth but he loves his treats regardless! His favorite thing to do is bark at every dog he comes in contact with and a good long nap.
Darby (left) and Jitzy (right), thank you for creating my perfect little boy! You will forever be missed and mommy loves you, Darby Mators.

This is me! I'm 31 years old currently living in Auburn, AL. I attend TUSVM in Tuskegee and currently am a 3rd year veterinary student. My favorite things are movies, FOOD, naps, and my dogs (sorry Josh).

These 2 silly butts make my life complete. They love to play, sleep and most of all TREATS!!! I hope y'all enjoy this blog and we're so excited to share the silliness of being a chihuahua with you.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a writer nor do I claim to be. This blog is just for fun and because I am so obsessed with my dogs. I need an outlet to make the world fall in love with them as well! ;-)
